The Instrumentation and Controls Technician, under the guidance of the Control System Supervisor, operates and maintains all hardware, software and instrumentation related to the water and sewer SCADA computer system. Operates the water distribution system and sewer conveyance system in accordance with all regulatory requirements and in compliance with interagency agreements. Provides accurate, critical information on the status of all aspects of water and sewer system performance.

Associate’s degree in electronics or related field or equivalent experience
Moderate experience with a minimum of three years’ in instrumentation and controls, electronics or a related field required
Must obtain Missouri DSIII water certification within 3 years of employment
Valid State motor vehicle operator’s license and acceptable driving record required

Skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite programs, computer application programs and operating systems
Knowledge of water distribution and wastewater collection systems and treatment procedures
Advanced skills in electronics
Knowledge of office automation techniques, computer and peripheral device interfaces
Ability to develop and maintain PLC programs
Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation communication problems
Ability to communicate in writing and orally 9. Ability to open vaults and manholes
Ability to organize and supervise the activities of others 11. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and with suppliers or vendors
